π£Announcement I've rebranded a little bit! My website is no longer librarymonster.io!It is //drumroll//https://MONSTERBYTE.LOLI love libraries - am a librarian - but my whole thing isn't really steeped in librarianship. My true heart is in monstrousness, technology, and having a sense of humor, so this felt right π₯Hope everybody visits me/my site every once in awhile. No ads, no trackers, just a personal website I've been building (and rebuilding, and redesigning, etc.) for >2 years

Hey did anyone else see #Pillowfort is going nonprofit? π I remember giving $10 seed money back in 2017. Apparently I haven't posted for 5 years tho. My account's still there. I also remember there was some controversy over whether to allow loli art (as per usz). I don't know how that ended.The email abt going nonprofit was very honest & cool from Julie. Went #camping for the 1st time in years at #PointBeach State Park in #Wisconsin over the weekend! Some takeaways: - the beach was amazing, the Amish Lakeside Country Store had fantastic baked treats. Weather was 70-80s F π€- While #FishCreek in #DoorCounty was v cool, don't make the day trip longer than 30 min drive away from camp. Blue Horse coffee was so nice + dog-friendly β¨- need to get a campsite that has a driveway for more privacy, & so my dogs don't bark "protecting the territory" π

I love hyperfixating on TV ships & their intimacies. Unfort, more and more ensemble stories are created. They're found family (which is nice messaging but not my fave tea); more affordable if the cast is relatively unknown; risk averse (we just need 1 character to love & root for to keep us watching)Ensemble stories are rough for me bc the characters & their ship I love often lack enough canon lore to them to deliver a spread of agreed-upon characterizations in fic, lol.

My #NothingPhone was accidentally left in my Jeep in direct sunlight in 95-100 fahrenheit weather for about 45 minutes (coming back from an outreach event & putting things back/talking to ppl gets hectic). It shut down on its own due to the heat, and after I popped it into the fridge for 5 minutes, it recovered fully. I was so worried but that baby survived! π€π³π« #CellPhones #TropicThunderSurvive.gif

After over 6 months trying to adopt #Apple phones with an iPhone 17 (and please be aware this is about my experience with Apple phones - I have an Apple iPad & I love it), I've moved back to #Android. P will get it for Father's Day!!! I'll take his old iPhone 12 so I can still have an iPhone for reference and tech help interactions at work though. Here's the good for me on iPhones: The iPhone 17 has an incredible automatic camera + filters to make every picture gorgeous. This feature makes such a huge difference in one's experience with their phone. iPhone widgets are awesome - Pressreader's top stories were great (their widget is there in Android but not working for me). Wikipedia had an iPhone widget of the most popular articles that doesn't exist on Android π And weirdly, the whole Hoopla app isn't working on my Nothing3 Android (login page just doesn't appear). The iPhone bad: I write creatively on my phone (long story short I quit smoking & the only way to write without triggering cravings was in bed on my phone, and I came to really enjoy the process!), and I basically stopped when I got the iPhone. I thought perhaps I would learn to love the keyboard; through osmosis & constant texting & writing, I would just pick up how it worked. Instead I came to rely on dictation, which sure is great for casual conversation but dictation is too much if you're worldbuilding or getting emotional over your own scenes. I didn't fiddle with the settings as much as I suppose I could've, and a tech ed colleague of mine indicated her iPhone wasn't as chaotic as my iPhone keyboard was, so perhaps I still just didn't customize it properly. But...
